‘Defining Mountains’ was exhibited at Corrosia! On the Skin in 2010. This exhibition explores the body, turning it inside out. All works share a fascination with the relationship between our inner and outer selves, focusing on the boundary marked by our largest and most sensitive organ: the skin.
In ‘Defining Mountains’, Yasmijn Karhof turns a playful tug at a hair into a raw experience of landscapes.
Through sculptures, photographs, installations, and video works, the skin is probed, dissected, and manipulated. It serves as the starting point for a quest to understand who we are and how we relate to others.
Corrosia! On the Skin features installations by Karin Arin, sculptures by Marleen Hartjes, photographs by Yasmijn Karhof, video installations by Judith Kuijpers and Rozemarijn Lucassen, and an installation and photographic work by Pia Maria.
