Images: guerrilla poster installation at Bickerstraat, Amsterdam (NL)
This site-specific photo installation shows a woman urinating standing up in front of a door in an anonymous city street, defiantly reapplied as a guerrilla poster onto that same door. Designed to fully cover the door, the poster was illegally posted twice—first removed, then boldly reattached.
Her dress, its design tailored to the door, blends into it; her shoes echo the pavement, merging her into the urban scene. After its second placement, the streetlamp illuminating the poster was mysteriously relocated, heightening the rebellious absurdity of this temporary work. ‘Incident I’ is a raw counterattack against the polished advertisements flooding the streets, dismantling imposed female ideals with shameless honesty.
