Edam

2000, film installation, 3'00" min., Super 16mm film, 16mm projector, floating screen, color, sound, no dialogue

In ‘Edam,’ the Dutch countryside turns into a surreal stage where human-animal boundaries blur. Figures in layered clothing stand and sit statically dispersed across a meadow, a tableau vivant briefly disrupted by a cow wandering through the frame.

Playfully, this work explores human-animal relationships, with static figures and a roaming cow reversing roles to prompt reflection on our bond with nature.
